So I guess I am confused about what your talking about. I don't think there is any card in my experience that didn't have volume controls on it. Well I don't know about this volume mixing stuff. timidity but not using -Or) won't have any music, because surprise, two programs trying to open /dev/dsp will fail. It also means that games spawning an external process in direct output mode (e.g. This means you cannot listen to your mp3 collection while in a game. Furthermore, opening the OSS interface blocks other applications when you do not have hardware mixing. Which means I get excessively loud sound output, and note that gamers often use headphones instead of speakers, usually which have no volume control either, and an uncontrollable sound level in the ears is hardly what I need. (No, LD_PRELOAD is not gonna work with static binaries.) The ALSA mixing layer might mitigate missing volume control or hardware mixing, but with the OSS interface this is not the case. Many a commercial games, among them UT99, still use the OSS interface. they are designed for gamers and that's something else entirely.Įven as a gamer, I would wholeheartedly want these features. >But these creative cards aren't designed for audiophiles. A TAINT_CRAP flag almost certainly won't keep the driver out of Ubuntu or Fedora, and even in RHEL I can imagine a future "kernel-drivers-unsupported" or something package with these drivers in it. So we're not actually kicking Creative that hard for their crap driver compared to other OS vendors. So Microsoft realised that a stick wasn't working and went for the nuclear option - in x86-64 Vista AFAIU users can't click past, they get a dialog saying the driver won't work, and that's it unless they are willing to modify the OS and reboot into a clearly labelled (and unsupported) "test mode" to use the hardware. ![]() Remember that Windows for a long time has reacted to crap (uncertified) drivers with big scary warning dialogs, and IHVs reacted by updating their installation instructions to say that users should just click past the scary warnings or worse, they modified the installer to move the mouse and click through on its own. I hope someone can help me with that problem.Well, TAINT_CRAP mostly flags things to developers (kernel or distro). of some scenerys and plugins that can't work there. If i use my second copy of x-plane 11.00 (so without any updates), the plane is just working fine there but that dosn't help me b.c. I even removed all my plugins but that changed nothing. I already have set my controlles to default and remapped them to make sure that i didn't configure my controlles wrong by accident. ![]() If i try to give it more rudder/nosewheelstearing than around 30%, it act's like i activated the brakes for some reason. If the plane is standing still, i can turn it in place with around 1000rpm but while the plane moves, this is not working in anyway. otherwise the plane will immediately stop it's forward movement. ![]() I almost need to use full power (even 2000rpm are to low) to archive that b.c. ![]() If i leave the taxiway and enter the runway, i need to turn 90° to the right to follow the yellow line to the centerline of the runway. To explain it better i give you an example: It's about turning the cessna (yaw axis) if i taxi around. As i was taxiing the cessna 172SP that is included in x-plane, i noticed a big problem. After a long time without x-plane (my hardware trolled me), i wanted to fly again. It would be simply amazing if someone knows one of the two fields and can give me the name or code.Īirport 1 has a fence at least on the left side of the runway: The next problem is that i uploaded the video to facebook instead of youtube and so everything i have are these 2 records of the low quality clip. I recorded the flight 3 years ago but sadly with a pov where it's not possible to read any instruments so i don't even know the elevation of the field. I was sure that it was near the us / mexican border, so i wasted the last 8 hours and loaded every single airport in xp11 that is located in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas and Utah ( that has a 900 Meter / 3000 feet or longer gravel runway) but sadly couldn't find it. There is sadly nothing about this flight in my x-plane logbook and i can't remember the name of the field were i started or landed. Hi all, i hope for the so called collective intelligenceģ years ago, i flew from one gravel field to another one.
